Argumentative Essay

Free Healthcare as the Government Obligation.

Agree or Disagree?

As the fundamental aspect of humans’ life, healthcare has been capturing public’s attention. Indonesians’ demand for free healthcare provided by government is growing all the time. However, I believe that healthcare is the responsibility of individuals for these convincing reasons.

Free healthcare implementation may over the budget which may cut the budget of other sectors. Based on Indonesian Ministry of Finance’s record in 2018, government spent 10.1 trillion rupiah which the 5.2 trillion rupiah was paid to cover the over budget of free healthcare program. Unfortunately, it cut other sectors’ budget such as education and infrastructure which affect the development on that sector.

Free healthcare may solves one problem but start another problem. Indonesian government applied limited free healthcare since 2014. The government set the specific criteria for patients who eligible to receive the program and limited the treatments provided by the health authorities. Sadly, this fact leads to a sense of unfairness among citizens and reflect that free healthcare cannot guarantee the recovery of the patients. If these are happen, what is actually the point of holding free healthcare?

It is fundamental obligation as a human to take care of ourselves. Buddha said that it is our duty to keep our healthiness. Naturally, we try our best to take care of ourselves for living. Then why government should provide free healthcare if we are obligate to take care of ourselves?

Many believe that free healthcare may guarantee the health of citizens. But in fact, there are cases which patients with private payment takes precedence over the free healthcare patient. For example are case that occurred in northern Binjai where patient with free healthcare were left waiting without certainty and other makeshift drug administration case only for free healthcare patient. It may cause of serious condition or may be the death of the patient.

In conclusion, I believe that healthcare is responsibility of individuals not only for the government. It is important for us as human to take care of our body. With take care of ourselves; we can help other to remain the important of healthy body for living.

 Between "Grammar" and "1+1=2"

Language and mathematic are general subjects to learn in all level of school in Indonesia which both are related to each other. It is important to learn language in communication before learn mathematic because you need to understand the explanation through communication. Before learning between languages and mathematic, it is important to know the basic differences and similarities.
Language is being learned based on assumption of reality, unlike mathematic, is being learned based on assumption of perfection. People learn how to communicate to each other with language. Body language is the first language to be practiced and understood which already used since we were baby. It showed that people naturally learn language by adapted to our reality. Otherwise, concrete basic formulas are being used to learn mathematic which it examine the constant result. The point is you can solve one problem with many solutions in language term when you can solve many problems with one formula in learning mathematic.
In terms of processing part in human brain, the core process of learning language and mathematic is in left hemisphere brain. Left hemisphere is dominated for language, math, and linear logic process. It must attribute meaning or value to element for both subject to build learning pattern. However, both of subject use different part of left hemisphere brain. Emeritus professor of biology, Ken Saladin, stated that key language centers in our brain are in the Broca area, and Wernicke area. Otherwise, prefrontal cortex of the frontal lobe is the center of processing the logic between numbers.
In conclusion, it is difficult to state whether one subject is more important than other subject as it is based on student preferences. What important to understand is the differences and the unique similarities which adding more value in learning both subject.
